Copper Solid Rivets
Round-Head Solid Rivets for Two-Sided Installation
Uncoated copper solid rivets with a preformed round head and a one-piece solid shank for permanent mechanical fastening. Choose from 80 confirmed metric diameter-and-length combinations and 100-piece or 1,000-piece packs.
Natural Corrosion Resistance
Copper provides inherent corrosion resistance for compatible materials and service environments.
Electrical Conductivity
The copper construction is relevant to compatible electrical and electronic assemblies where mechanical fit and electrical requirements are separately verified.
Ductile Copper
Copper ductility supports controlled formation of the second rivet head when suitable tooling and process settings are used.
Solid-Shank Construction
The one-piece rivet has no separate mandrel, providing a simple solid-rivet structure for two-sided setting.
Selection note: Imperial dimensions are approximate references. For accurate sizing and product selection, use the metric dimensions shown in parentheses.
Solid rivets generally require access to both sides of the workpiece so the preformed head can be supported while the opposite end is formed.
Structure & Setting
Preformed Round Head with a Solid Shank
The rivet is inserted through an aligned hole, the factory-formed round head is supported, and the exposed shank end is formed into a second head by a suitable impact or press-setting process. Final shank length selection depends on the combined material thickness and the forming allowance required by the installation process.
Material
Uncoated Copper Construction
The complete one-piece rivet is copper with an uncoated finish. Copper offers electrical and thermal conductivity, ductility, and natural corrosion resistance. Uncoated copper may develop normal surface color changes over time depending on handling and exposure.
Applications
Industry-Specific Applications
- Electrical and Electronic Assemblies: compatible mechanical fastening around copper terminals, contacts, and related components after fit and electrical requirements are verified.
- Visible Decorative Hardware: round copper heads for visible furniture, display, and decorative hardware details.
- Architectural Copper Details: non-structural copper trim and decorative metalwork where material compatibility and environmental conditions are checked.
Common Riveting Applications
- General Metal Assembly: permanent joining of compatible components with access to both sides.
- Sheet-Metal Panels and Enclosures: general panel and enclosure assembly after diameter, length, hole, and forming allowance are confirmed.
- Leather and Bag Hardware: visible hardware assembly with suitable backing support, hole preparation, and setting tools.
Selection Guide
Choose Only a Confirmed Diameter-and-Length Combination
- Select the metric rivet diameter for the prepared hole and application.
- Choose a listed length for that diameter; available lengths differ by diameter.
- Confirm the total material thickness and the forming allowance required to create the second head.
- Select either the 100-piece or 1,000-piece pack.

Installation
Support, Insert, and Form the Second Head
- Prepare aligned holes using the recommended range for the selected diameter.
- Insert the rivet and fully support the preformed round head.
- Use tooling and a setting process suitable for copper solid rivets to form the opposite end.
- Inspect the completed joint for alignment, full seating, and an acceptable formed head.

How is rivet length measured?
Rivet length is the solid shank length and does not include the height of the preformed round head.
Can these solid rivets be installed from one side?
Solid-rivet setting generally requires access to both sides so the factory head can be supported and the opposite shank end can be formed.
Are the imperial dimensions exact?
Imperial dimensions are approximate references. For accurate sizing and product selection, use the metric dimensions shown in parentheses.
