Open-End Dome Head Blind Rivets

Copper Blind Rivets for Single-Side Fastening

Red copper-body blind rivets with a zinc-plated carbon steel mandrel for general sheet-metal, enclosure, bracket, and repair connections where access is available from one side.

Red Copper Body

Provides the inherent conductivity, formability, and corrosion resistance associated with copper material.

Single-Side Installation

The blind-rivet design allows fastening when only one side of the assembly can be reached.

Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel Mandrel

The steel mandrel supplies the pulling element used to form the rivet during installation.

Multiple Available Sizes

Select the rivet diameter, body length, grip range, and pack quantity that match the assembly.

Selection matters: choose the rivet by the total combined material thickness, required hole size, and available installation clearance. Grip range is not the same as rivet length.

Structure

Open-End Dome Head Construction

The copper body forms the installed joint while the zinc-plated carbon steel mandrel is pulled through the body by a compatible blind-rivet tool. The dome head provides a broad, conventional bearing surface on the accessible side.

Applications

General Assembly Uses

  • Copper sheet, light sheet metal, housings, and brackets
  • Electrical enclosures and wiring-related hardware assemblies
  • Gutter, downspout, decorative metal, and general repair connections
  • Industrial covers and components requiring one-side access

Confirm material compatibility and joint requirements for the specific installation. Verify the joint design separately for structural, sealing, grounding, or safety-critical requirements.

Selection Guide

Choose Diameter, Length, Grip Range, and Pack Quantity

  1. Match the rivet diameter to the prepared hole and the selected size-specific hole recommendation.
  2. Use the grip range to match the total combined thickness of all materials being fastened.
  3. Confirm the body length and tool clearance for the installation.
  4. Select either the 100-piece or 1,000-piece pack.

Imperial dimensions are approximate references. For accurate sizing and product selection, use the metric dimensions shown in parentheses.

Material & Care

Material & Magnetism Notes

Why can this rivet be attracted to a magnet?

The copper body is generally nonmagnetic. Magnetic attraction may come from the zinc-plated carbon steel mandrel used in this assembly. Magnet response alone should not be used as a complete material-identification test.

Installation

General Installation Guidance

  1. Prepare a clean hole within the recommendation for the selected rivet diameter.
  2. Insert the rivet body fully through the aligned materials.
  3. Seat the tool squarely on the mandrel and operate it until the mandrel breaks.
  4. Inspect head seating and joint formation before placing the assembly into service.

FAQ

What hole size should I use?

Use the size-specific recommended hole range shown below and confirm the fit for the actual material and installation conditions.

Rivet Diameter Recommended Hole Range
Ø2.4 mm3/32″ Ø2.4-2.5 mm (0.094-0.098″)
Ø3.2 mm1/8″ Ø3.2-3.3 mm (0.126-0.130″)
Ø4 mm5/32″ Ø4.0-4.2 mm (0.157-0.165″)
Ø4.8 mm3/16″ Ø4.8-5.0 mm (0.189-0.197″)
Can these rivets be used for structural or sealed joints?

Do not assume structural, pressure-sealing, waterproof, or certified load performance. Verify the joint design and performance requirements before use.

What causes magnetic attraction?

The zinc-plated carbon steel mandrel may be attracted to a magnet. The copper body is generally nonmagnetic.
