Tri-Fold Aluminum Blind Rivets
These tri-fold aluminum blind rivets expand into three folding legs behind the workpiece during installation. The three-leg design distributes the clamping load across a wider rear area than a conventional blind rivet, making it suitable for compatible plastic panels, thin materials, soft materials, oversized holes, and applications requiring additional rear-side support.
Key Features
- Three-leg expansion: The rivet body forms three folding legs behind the workpiece, helping distribute the fastening load across a wider area.
- Suitable for soft and thin materials: Designed for compatible plastic panels, rubber components, thin sheet metal, composite panels, and other materials that may require a wider rear bearing surface.
- Support for irregular or oversized holes: The tri-fold design can provide improved rear-side support where a conventional blind rivet may have insufficient bearing area.
- Aluminum construction: The aluminum rivet body offers low weight and good resistance to ordinary moisture and corrosion.
- Multiple finishes: Available in silver, half-black, and all-black options to suit different products and appearance requirements.
- One-sided installation: Suitable for assemblies where access is available from only one side.
Available Options
Available in 100-piece and 1,000-piece packs with multiple diameter, length, and color combinations. Review the selected product option carefully before placing your order.
Size Selection
Tri-fold rivets expand differently from conventional pop rivets. Select the correct option according to the drilled-hole diameter, combined material thickness, specified grip range, available clearance behind the workpiece, and the required head size.
Do not use a fixed length allowance for every installation. The required rivet length depends on the selected diameter, rivet design, material stack, hole condition, and installation requirements. Refer to the dimensions shown in the product images and options before ordering.
Typical Applications
Suitable for compatible automotive body and interior panels, plastic components, vehicle trim, furniture, equipment housings, instruments, thin sheet materials, workshop repairs, and selected indoor or outdoor assemblies.
For exhaust systems, high-temperature locations, structural joints, or safety-critical automotive applications, verify that the selected rivet material, dimensions, and performance requirements are suitable before use.
Installation Guidance
- Measure the combined thickness of the materials being joined.
- Select the correct rivet diameter, length, grip range, and finish.
- Prepare a clean hole of the recommended diameter.
- Insert the rivet through the aligned materials.
- Use a compatible blind-rivet tool with the correctly sized nosepiece.
- Confirm that the three legs form evenly behind the workpiece and that the rivet head is seated correctly.
Correct selection and installation help distribute the fastening load and reduce the risk of cracking, pull-through, or unwanted surface deformation. Actual performance depends on the workpiece material, material thickness, hole condition, selected grip range, and installation quality.
