All-316 Stainless Steel

Tri-Fold Blind Rivets for Coastal and Corrosive Environments

These blind rivets combine an all-316 stainless steel body and mandrel with a three-leg expansion pattern that creates a wider bearing area on the blind side of thin and lightweight materials.

Four Reasons to Choose This Rivet

All-316 Stainless Steel Construction

Both the rivet body and mandrel are made from 316 stainless steel for applications requiring enhanced resistance to moisture, chlorides and corrosive service conditions.

Tri-Fold Blind-Side Expansion

The rivet body forms three folding legs during installation, creating a broader contact area behind the material.

Support for Thin Materials

The expanded rear profile helps distribute clamping load across thin sheet metal, fiberglass, plastic and composite panels.

One-Sided Installation

Install the rivet from the accessible side when the rear of the assembly cannot be reached.

Why Choose 316 Instead of 304?

316 stainless steel is commonly selected when fasteners may be exposed to chlorides, coastal air, persistent humidity or more corrosive service conditions. This all-316 version provides the same tri-fold blind-side support as the 304 product while offering a material option better suited to demanding environments.

Material suitability depends on the complete assembly, surrounding materials, installation quality and actual service environment. The term “marine grade” describes a common material application and does not represent a product certification or a guarantee for permanent seawater immersion.

Designed for These Materials and Applications

Thin sheet metal
Fiberglass and FRP panels
Plastic panels and housings
Composite sheet materials
Coastal equipment and enclosures
Marine-adjacent hardware
Wastewater and process equipment
Humid and corrosive service environments

How to Choose the Right Size

Measure the total thickness of the materials being joined and select a rivet whose listed grip range includes that thickness. Both available sizes use a 0.197" (5 mm) installation hole.

Displayed grip ranges use a conservative working limit, and nominal lengths ending in 0.1 mm are shown as the nearest lower whole millimeter for simpler product selection.

Rivet Size Hole Size Grip Range
3/16" × 5/8" (Ø4.8 × 16 mm) 0.197" (5 mm) 0.059"–0.197" (1.5–4 mm)
3/16" × 25/32" (Ø4.8 × 20 mm) 0.197" (5 mm) 0.118"–0.354" (3–8 mm)

Frequently Asked Questions

Are both the rivet body and mandrel made from 316 stainless steel?

Yes. The confirmed variants use a 316 stainless steel rivet body and a 316 stainless steel mandrel.

How is this version different from the 304 stainless steel rivet?

Both versions use the same tri-fold installation principle. The 316 version is generally the more suitable material choice for chloride exposure, coastal air, persistent humidity and more corrosive service conditions.

Does “marine grade” mean the rivet is certified for permanent seawater immersion?

No. “Marine grade” is a common material description for 316 stainless steel. It is not a product certification or a guarantee for every marine environment or permanent seawater immersion.

Can these rivets be installed from one side?

Yes. They are blind rivets designed for installation from the accessible side of the assembly.

How do I select the correct grip range?

Measure the combined thickness of the materials being joined, then choose the rivet whose listed grip range includes that thickness.

What pack size is available?

The confirmed 316 stainless steel variants are supplied in packs of 50 pieces.
