Aluminum Tri-Fold Blind Rivets

Three-leg blind-side support with a pre-installed rubber washer

These open-end tri-fold blind rivets use an aluminum alloy body and aluminum alloy mandrel. Longitudinal body slots form three folding legs after setting, while the rubber washer sits beneath the flange at the contact surface.

Tri-Fold Rear Formation

The slotted rivet body forms three rear legs during installation, creating a defined blind-side bearing pattern for panel fastening.

All-Aluminum Construction

Both the rivet body and mandrel are specified as aluminum alloy, providing a consistent material combination across all listed sizes.

Pre-Installed Rubber Washer

The washer is positioned beneath the flange to improve contact at the flange-to-surface interface without requiring a separate loose washer.

Defined Selection Data

Each size has a specified grip range, hole size, head diameter and mandrel diameter for controlled product selection.

Two Pack Quantities

Choose 100-piece packs for maintenance or smaller jobs and 1000-piece packs for recurring assembly and replenishment.

Important: The rubber washer is a physical product feature, but no tested waterproof rating, IP rating or watertight performance claim is supplied. Applications requiring verified sealing should be tested under the actual panel, hole and environmental conditions.

How the Tri-Fold Structure Works

The rivet is inserted from one side of the assembly. As the compatible blind-rivet tool pulls the mandrel, the longitudinally slotted body folds into three legs on the blind side. After setting, check that the flange sits evenly against the washer and that all three rear legs have formed without damaging the surrounding material.

Common Applications

  • Sheet, panel and enclosure assemblies with access from one side
  • Equipment housings, cabinets and general sheet-metal components
  • Signs, light-duty housings and non-structural trim assemblies
  • Trailer, RV and vehicle-panel repair where the selected grip range is suitable
  • Plastic, fiberglass or composite panels after fit testing for local compression and hole-edge strength

Selection Guide

  1. Measure the total material thickness and select a size whose grip range covers that thickness.
  2. Choose the listed rivet size shown as the inch designation followed by the metric dimensions in parentheses.
  3. Use the metric dimensions, grip range and hole size as the engineering reference for installation checks.
  4. Use a 5.4 mm hole for 5.2 mm rivets and a 6.6 mm hole for 6.4 mm rivets.
  5. Allow for an 11.5 mm head diameter on 5.2 mm sizes and a 14.5 mm head diameter on 6.4 mm sizes.
  6. Confirm that the installation tool supports the selected rivet diameter, mandrel diameter and required setting capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the correct size?

Start with the total material thickness and match it to the grip range for the selected size. Then confirm the required hole size and available head clearance.

Are these rivets waterproof?

A rubber washer is installed beneath the flange, but no tested waterproof or IP rating is supplied. Verify sealing performance in the actual assembly when water resistance is required.

What are the rivet body and mandrel made from?

Both are specified as aluminum alloy. A specific alloy grade has not been provided.

What tool is required?

Use a blind-rivet tool compatible with the selected 5.2 mm or 6.4 mm rivet size and the corresponding mandrel diameter. Confirm the tool setting capacity before installation.

What pack quantities are available?

Each listed size is available in 50-piece and 500-piece packs.
