1/4" Extra-Long Stainless Steel Blind Rivets
These extra-long blind rivets feature a 1/4" (6.4mm) diameter with a stainless steel rivet body and stainless steel mandrel. Their extended length is suitable for compatible assemblies with a thicker material stack or applications requiring a longer grip range.
Key Features
- All-stainless steel construction: Both the rivet body and mandrel are made from stainless steel, providing good mechanical strength and resistance to ordinary moisture, corrosion, and demanding service conditions.
- 1/4" diameter: The 6.4mm body diameter is intended for compatible drilled holes and applications requiring a larger rivet than common 1/8", 5/32", or 3/16" options.
- Extended-length design: Available in five length options for different combined material thicknesses and grip requirements.
- Permanent one-sided fastening: Can be installed where only the front side of the assembly is accessible.
- Indoor and outdoor use: Suitable for compatible workshop, equipment, sheet-metal, ductwork, furniture, vehicle, and general repair applications.
Available Options
Available in 100-piece and 1,000-piece packs. Select the required length carefully according to the combined thickness of the materials being joined and the specified grip range shown in the product images.
Strength and Performance
The all-stainless steel construction provides greater mechanical strength than comparable aluminum rivets and is suitable for joints subjected to compatible tensile and shear loads. Actual joint strength depends on the selected rivet size, stainless steel grade, material thickness, hole condition, grip range, and installation quality.
The stainless steel construction also provides resistance to ordinary temperature changes and corrosion encountered in many indoor and outdoor applications. For high-temperature, chemically aggressive, structural, aviation, elevator, or other safety-critical applications, confirm the required material grade, load rating, and applicable engineering standards before use.
Typical Applications
Suitable for compatible metal panels, pipes, equipment housings, ductwork, furniture, workshop repairs, vehicle components, machinery, and other assemblies requiring a 1/4" diameter extra-long blind rivet.
These rivets may also be considered for aviation-related fabrication or maintenance where the dimensions and material meet the applicable technical requirements. They are not represented as certified aerospace fasteners unless supporting certification is provided for the specific application.
Installation Guidance
- Measure the total thickness of all materials being joined.
- Select a rivet length with a grip range that includes the measured material thickness.
- Prepare a clean, correctly sized hole suitable for the 1/4" rivet body.
- Insert the rivet through the aligned materials.
- Use a compatible heavy-duty blind-rivet tool with the correct 1/4" nosepiece and sufficient pulling capacity.
- Operate the tool until the mandrel breaks at the designed point.
- Check that the rivet head is seated correctly and the joint is secure.
Proper hole preparation, grip-range selection, and controlled installation help reduce unwanted surface distortion. Do not use a rivet outside its specified grip range.
