Tri-Fold Large-Head Aluminum Blind Rivets
These tri-fold blind rivets combine a large-flange head with a three-leg expanding design. During installation, the rivet body folds into three legs behind the workpiece, distributing the clamping load across a wider area than a standard blind rivet. This makes them suitable for compatible plastic panels, thin sheet materials, soft materials, oversized holes, and applications requiring additional rear-side support.
Key Features
- Three-leg expansion: The rivet body forms three spreading legs behind the workpiece, creating a wider rear bearing area and helping distribute the fastening load.
- Large-flange head: The broad head provides increased front-side coverage and helps spread pressure around the drilled hole.
- Suitable for soft and thin materials: Designed for compatible plastic panels, rubber components, thin sheet metal, composite panels, and other materials that may require a wider load-bearing surface.
- Useful for irregular or oversized holes: The expanding tri-fold design can provide improved support where a conventional blind rivet may have insufficient bearing area.
- Aluminum construction: The aluminum rivet body provides low weight and good resistance to ordinary moisture and corrosion.
- Multiple finishes: Available in silver, half-black, and all-black options for different product and appearance requirements.
- One-sided installation: Can be installed where only the front side of the assembly is accessible.
Available Options
Available in 100-piece and 1,000-piece packs with multiple diameter, length, and color combinations. Review the selected product option carefully before placing your order.
Size Selection
Tri-fold rivets expand differently from conventional pop rivets. Select the rivet according to the drilled-hole diameter, combined material thickness, specified grip range, head size, and available clearance behind the workpiece.
Do not rely on a single fixed length allowance for every application. The required rivet length depends on the selected diameter, rivet design, material stack, and installation conditions. Check the dimensions shown in the product images and options before ordering.
Typical Applications
Suitable for compatible automotive body and interior panels, plastic components, vehicle trim, furniture, equipment housings, instruments, thin sheet materials, workshop repairs, and selected indoor or outdoor assemblies.
For exhaust systems, high-temperature areas, structural joints, or safety-critical automotive applications, confirm that the selected rivet material, dimensions, and performance requirements are suitable before use.
Installation Guidance
- Measure the combined thickness of the materials being joined.
- Select the correct rivet diameter, length, grip range, head size, and color.
- Prepare a clean hole of the recommended diameter.
- Insert the rivet through the aligned materials.
- Use a compatible blind-rivet tool with the correctly sized nosepiece.
- Confirm that the three legs form evenly behind the workpiece and that the large head is seated properly.
Correct size selection and installation help distribute the load and reduce the risk of cracking, pull-through, or unwanted surface deformation. Actual performance depends on the workpiece material, thickness, hole condition, selected grip range, and installation quality.
